Dear patients,

Virginia will start Tier 1b vaccinations today, which encompasses first responders and essential employees as well as those over age 75. The former will most likely receive vaccinations in an effort coordinated with their employer.  Locally, the Lord Fairfax Health District will start providing vaccinations for those over age 75.  Winchester Internal Medicine does not have the vaccine at this time

Monday, 1/11/2021, and Friday, 1/15/2021, the public health department will offer no-cost COVID vaccines from 8 AM until noon, both days, at the Boyce Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall at 7 S. Greenway Avenue in Boyce to Virginia residents ages 75 and older.  If a household couple contains at least one spouse or partner over age 75, vaccination will be offered to both.  The health department is asking that people stagger their arrival times with last names A to J arriving between 8-10 AM and K to Z between 10 AM to noon.

Valley Health is helping the local health department in the vaccination process at four locations (Winchester, Woodstock, Front Royal, and Luray). Specific dates, times, locations, and registration are available at www.valleyhealthlink.com. Please keep checking this website as more spots will open as they receive more vaccine doses.

For more information about the COVID vaccination process, please contact the Lord Fairfax Health District at one of their local public health clinics (https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/lord-fairfax/). The Frederick/Winchester Health Department phone is (540)-722-3470. If you live in West Virginia, please call 1-833-734-0965 for information or go to https://dhhr.wv.gov/COVID-19/Pages/Vaccine.aspx.

Information for vaccination of individuals outside of Tier 1b will be posted as it becomes available.
